Please update for El Capitan 2016 … it looks years old, i’d love a fresh new look

Rather than waste time changing your Energy settings and then having to revert them back after a set, use Caffeine! It lives in your menu bar so you can toggle it on or off at any time. It does what it says - keeps the screen on and prevents the computer from sleeping. Perfect if you use controllers, CDJ’s, or anything that minimizes how often you’re touching your laptop.

This was a fantastic app for its time, but is no longer being supported. For a similar app that’s updated for current versions of OS X I have found Amphetamine to be a suitable replacement. It has Retina icons and supports dark mode properly.

The title says it all. This is a great app for any Mac user, and a must-have app for those who work on a Mac.

I love this simple utility! looks cool in status bar and is the most helpful most used thing on teh computer. Love it!

Ever since I downloaded Yosemite, Caffeine hasn’t worked for me. I loved it before, but now it doesn’t work. PLEASE FIX!!

The application has always worked well for me. Does what it says it does. One irritation is that the icon on the menu bar will often not return to a normal gray background after you’ve activated Caffeine. On my setup, the background of the icon will stay blue as if I’m clicking and holding the mouse down on it. The only way to clear it is to stop and restart the application. This started to be a problem with Mavericks and has continued on with Yosemite. It doesn’t affect the functionality at all, but it does act as a distracting annoyance.

It does not blend well with OS X Yosemite (the icon looks out of place) and when you click on the icon in the status bar it stays stuck highlighted and won’t go away until you restart your mac. Please update!!! Thank you.

The app is fantastic, but since I use my Mac in Dark Mode, the icon is almost invisible, making it hard to locate it. I would appreciate if the aformentioned issue were updated.

Lacking the critical feature of keeping the Mac from sleeping at ALL times, even when lid closed. Or at least be clear to users this does nothing more than change system prefs. - Dissapointed in NYC.

Caffeine has a few things to do, and it does them so well that its price (free) is crazy. I’ve been using it for years and it’s one of the best apps ever. Does exactly the job I need it to do: keeps my laptop from sleeping when I need it to stay awake, avoiding System Preferences. Well done. Other apps that ask for money, maybe you should think long and hard before putting your buggy apps on the web store — and charging for them. Caffeine is a gem that others should look to for inspiration.

After I right click, the icon background stays blue :( Other than that, the app is amazing, love love love, super useful.

I’ve been using this app for almost a decade. It’s fantastic. I use it when podcasting to make sure my computer doesn’t accidentially go to sleep while recording. I just installed it on my new Retina MacBook Pro and I’m seeing an odd bug. When you click to activate, the icon turns blue (in addition to filling the coffee cup). The problem is - once you click the icon, it stays blue forever. You have to kill and restart it to get it to go back to normal. It’s only supposed to be blue when you’re interacting it (regardless of whether it’s activated or not).

I love it!! Although it doesn’t open up now in the tray thing with the rest of my apps since I updated to Yosemite. I really liked that but now it’s gone so I have to go searching for it when I want it. But yeah. Other than that, it’s always worked well, always been awesome, no problems yet :)

I love using this app. However since the introduction of the dark menu bar on OS X. It would be really nice to have a dark menu bar icon. Just a flat one. Right now it causes a blue box around the icon and makes my menu bar ugly.

I tried installing this app on two differenct MacBook Pro’s and get the same error: Install error occurred. Does the app not work under OSX El Capitan?

I have the same issue, just clean installed OS X El Capitan on my Macbook and I’m getting an error: Install error occurred. This is a really great app, would love to continue using it on El Capitan. Can this app be updated so that it can be downloaded to and installed on El Capitan? Thanks in advance for the help!

I Rreally want to use this app! IT wont download, please fix

This app will not redownload after clean install. It does work on El Capitan for the other users complaining about the same issue. I have found this application can be downloaded from publishers site.
